"Waiting Sparrow"

The imagery of birds is evoked frequently in the Baha'i Writings. In one prayer, the person praying is positioned as a "broken-winged bird." The "waiting sparrow" in this picture is like the soul in a condition of longing for its Beloved. In a world of conflicting ideologies and chaos it is craving the spiritual clarity brought only by the Grace and Mercy of God.
