The Bahá’í International Community’s Office of Public Information is based at the Bahá'í World Centre in Haifa, Israel.
The Office handles international media relations on behalf of the Bahá’í International Community (BIC), including documenting and publicizing—in coordination with the BIC United Nations Office—the ill-treatment of the Bahá'ís in Iran and Egypt.
The official Bahá’í Web sites, including The Bahá’í Faith and The Bahá’í Reference Library, operate through the Office. The sites speak to a range of interests—personal, academic, and governmental—and offer information on Bahá’í history, teachings and belief, social and economic development, social action, prayer and meditation, and Bahá’í community life, as well as providing access to the Bahá’í Writings.
The Office of Public Information operates the Bahá’í World News Service, with reporting on current Bahá’í activity around the world. The BWNS Web site includes information for journalists and a media bank with downloadable photos.
In addition, the Office publishes One Country, a quarterly newsletter reporting on Bahá’í involvement in social change and Bahá’í views on contemporary issues, and The Bahá’í World, soon to be an online record of Bahá’í activity and thought, with a companion volume published and printed regularly.
